Rafting Frequently Asked Questions

Location:

Potomac River below Great Falls - Meet in the parking lot at Carderock-meeting time is 9:45 am.

You will be getting wet- the bay can be cold and the sun fierce. For your comfort and enjoyment, we suggest you bring:

• Sunscreen
• Thermal top/rain shell (cotton not recommended) or in very hot weather, a T-shirt
• Hat for sun protection
• Sunglasses & glasses retainers
• Light sneakers or sport sandals
• Sturdy water bottle

Directions:

From I-495, Capital Beltway: Exit at exit 41 marked Clara Barton Parkway/Carderock going towards Great Falls, MD. Heading away from Washington DC, follow the signs to Carderock on Clara Barton Parkway. Exit the parkway after 0.8 miles at the Carderock/NavSurfWarCen exit. If you get to the intersection with MacArthur Blvd., you have gone too far. At Carderock we will meet you in the first parking lot to the left. After meeting we will bus you to Great Falls Park VA.

Cancellation Policies:

There will be no refunds for cancellations, no shows, or late arrivals. Outdoor Excursions reserves the right to cancel any trip due to unsafe water or weather condition. If a total cancellation is made by Outdoor Excursions a full refund will be given.
